Client Education Program
For non construction professionals, particularly with different construction suppliers, processes and priorities, it can be easy to miss a step. Since 1928, Scherrer Construction has been organizing the complicated comstruction processes to become … well, simple.
To help clients determine which project delivery method is best suited to their project, Scherrer Construction began presenting our proprietary construction client educational program, called ‘CoBI’, in 1988. At that time, there was a lack of information about the various construction options in the industry. Consumer buying habits were largely based on a referral or recommendation program. Time and time again we saw local municipalities and educational facilities lead astray by shady contractors or construction managers who did not have the community’s best interest in mind. By presenting our unbiased, strictly informative program, we are able to help individuals or communities make better construction-related decisions.
Today, our CoBI Program is in demand because there is too much information about our industry! With the myriad of information available on line, it is difficult to filter through and find the construction process that will best meet the needs of a project. Construction projects can also become even more complicated with special government funding, sustainable and green building requirements, and contractual requirements.
Our CoBI Program guides each Owner through the entire construction process, and can also review any special requirements for each project. Our presentation is customized to the Owner’s interests and needs. The following is a brief overview of some of the information we can review in our CoBi Program:
-
Advantages and disadvantages for each Construction Delivery Method
-
Overview of hiring practices for Architects, Engineers, and Contractors
-
How to begin planning a construction project, including scheduling and forming a Building Committee
-
Recommendations for fundraising efforts
-
Examples of helpful reports, hiring guides, and Request For Proposal we recommend for every construction project
