Westosha Central Breaks Ground for $39.6M Additions and Renovations
Congrats to our clients at Westosha Central High School as we held an official groundbreaking ceremony on Tuesday, May 10th for major renovations to their school campus! The $39.6M comprehensive facility plan that was approved by voters in April 2021 will not only address outdated building systems but will also enhance student learning environments in several areas.
The project will include new Family and Consumer Science labs, classrooms and kitchen, a new art department including a gallery and separate entry way, a new gym, commons/cafeteria area, library, and a new auditorium with tiered seating. Building infrastructure improvements include lighting, flooring and roofing, and updates to plumbing, heating/ventilation and electrical systems that are past their useful life.
We are so proud to have been the district's contractor over the past several years and we can't wait to bring these new spaces to the students, staff and community as this is the most exciting project we've done for the school yet.
“I’m very honored and humbled to be selected again as your local general contractor,” Jim Scherrer said, President & CEO of Scherrer Construction. “What makes it very special to me is I am a 1987 graduate of Westosha-Central. It gives me great pleasure to see this school evolve over 35 years.”
Construction has already begun and will continue throughout the next two school years, with an estimated completion of January 2024.

Westosha staff members take the first official digs for the $39.6M addition and renovations.
